Tanaidacea

Die Scherenasseln sind am Süßwassser-Bodengrund und am Meeresboden einschließlich der Tiefsee zu finden. Die meisten Arten werden nur ein oder zwei Millimeter groß, einige erreichen knapp 2cm. Auf dem ersten Beinpaar sitzen Scheren, daher der Name Scherenasseln.
