Pygopodidae

Aufgrund von Merkmalen, wie z.B. die zu einer "Brille" verwachsenen Augenlider und zwei weichschaligen Eiern je Gelege, werden die Flossenfüße in die Nähe der Geckos systematisiert. Ihre Anatomie hingegen lässt nur bedingt die Verwandtschaft zu den Geckos erkennen. Das führt zu kontroversen Diskussionen und einer gewissen "Sonderstellung" der Flossenfüße in der systemischen Einteilung der Geckos.
