Systematik der Hemiphractidae

Die Familie Hemiphractidae (Beutelfrösche & Hornlaubfrösche) [PETERS, 1862]

Hemiphractidae ist eine Froschfamilie aus Süd- und Mittelamerika. Ungewöhnlich ist ihr Fortpflanzungsverhalten. Die Eier werden auf dem Rücken des Weibchens getragen und entwickeln sich dort zu Jungfröschen, ohne ein frei schwimmendes Kaulquappenstadium zu durchlaufen oder nach dem Schlüpfen als Kaulquappen freigesetzt zu werden. Die Familie besteht aus sechs Gattungen mit rund 120 Arten.
